Would any of you have a flywheel with starter ring
gear and charging magnets for a Kohler Command 18hp
horizontal engine you would like to part with? If
so let me know. My email is open. Thanks

if you still have the magnets you can reattach them with jb weld.
the trick is aligning them correctly.
check for any markings on the magnets and flywheel.

That's the problem there's only 3 magnets inside the flywheel. they were missing when I bought the mower.

John B. I don't know where you are, but if there any decent small engine repair shops in your area, check with them. Most shops either keep dead engines and mowers to rob parts from or they will strip the good parts from the dead carcass and lay them on the shelf. Worth a shot, and good luck, I surely wouldn't want to pay retail for one.

Is it a KH-5V540 engine? If so, I am getting about ready to order a brand new engine for my i1042 Cub Cadet.
The old engine threw a rod at 183 hours. Seems it was fuel contaminated. DOUG

John not trying to be a smart butt here but you should be able to find a good flywheel locally fairly easily. Those Kohler Command engines just do not seem to hold up well. I see many mowers with under 500 Hours with these engines not running. So they are replaced as whole units a lot of the time. You should be able to find one at a small engine repair shop.

If not go on Ebay. I have had good luck on small engine and mower parts on there.
