I high-centered on a rock which bent my clutch linkage rod. Finally got unstuck and straightened the rod out, but when I push the clutch down it doesn"t come back up. And it won"t come out of gear. Anything I can do without having to split the tractor?

What brand of tractor? Is there any access hole you can view the clutch through? Something might have moved too far back or forward and is binding.

Nee more info for us to be able to help you help your self. You may well have broken something inside or broken a wood-ruff key etc

Regardless of the tractor, if straightening the rod didn't fix the problem, you're going to have to start pulling it apart to see what's wrong.

Is this the Ford 2600 they are talking about on the Ford Board?
If so I think you sheared the bolt that goes through the clutch shaft and operates the fork that moves the throw out bearing.
You will need to split the tractor to fix it.

Isn't it amazing how many people think tractors are rock crawlers, monster trucks, CUV's, four wheelers, etc?
