Farmall M looking to do some pulling

Ive got a Farmall M with a super M kit that ive bought and like to pull but keep it cheap seeing how im still in school. I bought a msd ignition and coil for it but not yet installed. What plugs and wires should I run? What should I run timing at? gas octane? Any carb work to be done? Anything helps! thanks

Spending the money on the ignition is a waste just a good simple tune up will make it run better if you dont have any money for serious money for sleeves pistons,cam ect. Tires are another big cost then weights and placement of them.

Look around for stone boat, sometimes called dead weight pulls. You tractor will be competitive without spending a lot. You can use your tractor, learn about balance and throttle application, and rub elbows with other enthusiasts.
