wire for tying equipment

When did john Deere stop using wire to tie machines down for shipping

When they invented the t-hook. It is a grab hook that has a T shape instead of a pin to hook to a chain. the T slips in to a slot and turns and hangs down to drop the chain into.

They still use it. Nice green plastic coated stuff. Big equipment is chained down, but small stuff like ditch mowers and small implements are wired down. They also use the wire to secure loose parts on machinery and all that some assembly required stuff.
