Seen on the interstate

Coming home Sunday from the MCI state tractor show at Charleston IL., traveling west of Effingham, IL. on I 70 towards St. Louis. There was a car along side the interstate with the hood and trunk opened. Huge woman wearing a bikini trying to get someone to stop. Anyone who has seen the movie Big Momma, this woman dwarfed her. Luckily two cars pull over before we got there. The second thing was a van with a window A/C in the rear door window with a gas generator on a cargo carrier in the receiver hitch running powering the A/C

I thought Montcalm County Michigan was the only place where things like that happened. Maybe some locals from here were on the road?

The home a.c. in the rear window was probably something they saw on Red Green. He could have used the fat lady in his show too.

Come on, Randy.. When I lived in Ionia county, I saw plenty of that kind of stuff!! It is not just in Montcalm county...

Back in the late 60's I was driving to Billings, MT, on a Sunday. Car stopped on Interstate with hood up; another driver had already stopped. I needed a break so I pulled over and stopped.Big momma in front seat, little guy behind the wheel, 3 young girls in the back. None of them got out of the car at ant time.

Engine overheated from ruptured bypass hose. Other driver knew them, but had no tools. I had tools, so pulled off hose to let it cool. Wrapped hose with duct tape and refilled cooling system from the 5 gallon can of water that I always carried when driving in MT in those days.

The taped hose bulged but held, so I told them to stop in the first town and have a new hose put on. They took off without even a "Thank You". The driver thst knew them just shook his head, but didn't seem too surprised.

Kinda dampened my willingness to help stranded motorists. Now I'm old, I just drive on by and think that someone younger will come along.

Ya,they call us Montucky. I won't bring up what's just over the boarder to the south. Ionia County does have Palo after all. Sorry Royse. LOL

The air conditioner van is probly a HotShot driver like Fedex or some other name. They do that often and sleep in back when they can.

Don't get me going on what kind of stuff you see in Marquette County or on the Seny stretch, especially after midnight!
