Monumental design and construction project denoting patriotism at its finest !!!

I wonder how far it can be seen and what it takes for reveille and retreat, given its size ?

How can you not break one or several rules of flag etiquette with something that large? You'd need dozens of people to properly handle a flag that large.

Maybe its a company thing, they surely have enough people working in that building, and it would get them right up close when raising and lowering, following the rules. Has to be a way, makes you want to call them out of curiosity LOL !

Did you see the excavation for a 400 ft pole base.?. I thought it was big for a 100 ft light pole. Looks like they were smart enough to make it anodized so it never has to be repainted. I think at 400 feet they will find the flags won't last long. At least the insurance company didn't spend all their money on lizard commercials.

The foundation was interesting, they went 10' deep, but I may have missed what the rest was.

When they set the 175' tower (power lines) at our place, the foundation was drilled, 6' wide and 60' feet deep, of course they could not spread out wide given the pond and marsh, but that is one heck of a mat foundation, be interesting to see the structurals on this one, showing the foundation in section. I had thought they would have needed to go deep, but that is not the case, works the same, just a different shape.

Personally, I find these kinds of jobs fascinating, with all that is involved, lizard money went for a patriotic and very meaningful cause, that can be seen for a long ways off and for a very long time.

Can't imagine what a flag costs at that size, really means something when the dollars don't matter, and the american flag does !

I think they did have dozens of people. At about 40 seconds into the video there's a line of people carrying the flag on their shoulders. Didn't see/hear anything about lighting at night but with the money spent I doubt they left that detail out.
