best way to clean electric terminals

if I can get the part to the bench grinders wire wheel, I do.
If not, I hold it tight and use an air tool with a wire brush.
(Gives you tough fingertips too LOL)
 
I used sand paper on the contacts for a starter but it's hard to give an answer without knowing what you need to clean.
 
i'd say lemon juice. but if your asking about your laptop, maybe, not a good idea. guess it matters what your trying to clean.
 
Back in the day there used to be a spray can of contact cleaner that would clean all the crap off electrical contacts, worked great on trailer whips. It would clean the green right out of the sockets. Last stuff I bought wasn't any better than a bucket of warm spit. Anyone got any recommendations on a GOOD brand of cleaner?

BTW- I use vaseline on a lot electrical stuff when I ran out of di-electric grease. Seems to work pretty good.
 
If that doesn't work . The cable can be rotten inside where the connector is crimped onto the wire.
Don't use Walmart bargain bin cables. They are too light for most applications and cause VD.
