We had some great sky background for photos yesterday so I took a few opportunities to get a photo or two. That is all water killed trees in the creek behind the tractor and baler. Beaver dams have caused a real buildup here and all over the area. The tails are worth $30 apiece if you have the time and patience to hunt them. I have neither but sure need to thin the herd a little.

Nice picture Rusty. This country can be kinda pretty when it isn't trying to drown you out, freeze or dry you out, or bury you under snow for six months of the year!

Jim, as bad as the mosquitos have been here lately I am starting to think winter was not so bad. They are terrible here . No doubt all the acres of water are helping to increase their population.

Jim, as bad as the mosquitos have been here lately I am starting to think winter was not so bad. They are terrible here . No doubt all the acres of water are helping to increase their population.

No kidding - they're hungry allright. Heck just the other day there was hundreds of mosquitos lined up at the blood bank looking to bolster their supplies!

Skeeters

I saw two of them carrying off a calf. One wanted to take it down by the river, but the other was afraid that if they went down there the big skeeters would take it away from them.

Beautiful photo! And for $30.00 each, I think I would make some time to bag a few. Heck, who knows, they may make good Bar-B-Que too.

If mosquitoes are that bad that far north, kinda shoots down the theory that a cold winter will kill off pests. That's what the old folks used to claim around here, but I have yet to see any evidence.
