Finally finished 45 +/- acres, 225 5.5 x 5.5 bales. Would have liked to be done a month ago, but the weather here just did not work out. First year with the NH 855, seems to do a good job, definitely have to make some kind of alarm box before next year. Hope everyone else is done.

That's a pretty darned good yield.

Oh, and keep the faith, I AM GONNA handle that "alarm" thing for ya. (Been kinda covered up around here myself).

I still have about 15 acres left, have 5 on the ground, it's a bear just getting that tangles up mess cut off. We do all small squares and there running about 150 per acre, so we can only get about 5 acres a day done. There's places the second crop is growing up through, it's so wet here the tires are still wet almost all the way around the field, water still bleeding out of the side hills. If the weather holds I would like to be done by Sunday night.

I got done yesterday. between the weather and breakdowns I just couldn't get much done. Wouldn't you know it the last 10 acres went past real fast. Now I'm looking to start my 2nd cutting in about a week.

Congrats. It's a good feeling to finish a job. If I'm lucky, I'll finish first cutting about sept 30. Hay is very heavy on the ground here in s.w. Pa. I had to switch tractors on the baler. baled last Fri in Low range, first gear low torque. 16 speed instead of 8. Our weather really makes you keep an eye to the sky!

Yup just finished this past weekend here too. Got 12 to find a place inside for. I don't know if I can get all of my second inside when done. Guess I should have sold some last winter.

nope, not done yet, almost, had a hyd hose blow on my NH855 at 5:10 pm, finaly got a hose an hour later, couldda been done, maybe 8 more bales. got too tough, last bale couldnt get out, gate latch stuck or something

Since our weather has been so wet, it kept growing, the last 10 acres or so were absolutely horrible the alfalfa was so heavy and laying down it was tangled something terrible. I know for sure I would never have gotten my 276 to pick up the windrows with all that mess under it. The first few areas I did are looking very nice for 2nd, I just hope it waits a few more weeks. Not ready to start small square baling just yet, have a manure spreader to fix and a pen to clean and fix. Need to seperate some of the cattle.

And Alan, I completely understand about being tied up, it never seems to end.

Thanks,

Leo
