Some relatives have gotten me to help sell some farm related things out of an estate they have a TO 30 I got it running and it needs a switch and the gas tank cleaned out.The owner bought the tractor new back in the 50's has always been shedded, has a little over 1800 original hrs.Sheet metal is very good tires have some cracking but very useable PTO 3pt etc works well steers great.Whats a reasonable price to sell it?
I'm thinking around $2500 but don't really know the market on these.

It would need to be truely exceptional to bring $2,500 in my area.

I believe the owner of the tractor in the linked ad is more realistic.

There can be a HUGE difference in perceived value of a machine of any sort that is original, and can be taken to a show and be presentable without repainting. We have all seen examples of this, but it can take awhile to find the buyer. If you are in a position to be able to make an investment, since they want to move it, you could offer them more like the $1700 then advertise it in the MF magazine (assuming that there is one) for $3500. If it is as nice as you say I bet that it will bring $3400, without putting a dime into it.

You can buy EXTREMELY nice Ferguson 30's in this area for $1500 to $1800. Fergusons and Massey Fergusons are very popular here. I've seen "expo quality" 30's that don't bring $2500.

where do you hale from if you dont mind? I've always liked the look of them and wanted one. If your not far I'd like to see it first hand.
Im in NE Kansas.

In my area, it would need new tires and running perfectly to bring $2,500. With cracked tires, VERY good tin, and running well with no issues, it could bring $1,500 -1,600 unless you find someone who really wants that particular tractor.

I think that the value would be closer to the $1500-1750 for the condition it is in. You can buy TO-30s with good tires and paint for $2000 and under.

Just a question, I have never seen a TO 30 with an hour meter on it. My maternal Grand Father had 1952 TO 30 and it did not have an hour meter or tachometer. I know they made the TO 30 for another few years, did the later ones have an hour meter???

I'm not real familar with Ferguson's and thats what they told me I didn't look at the tag it might be a Ferguson 40 thinking about it,I'll check when I go back.

I saw a nice one sell in ohio last week for 850.It had good paint,no dents, older but good rubber.

All I know is that NE Kansas must be the home to all the nice TO30s in the nation. I've never seen one in fair to good running condition sell for less than $2000 and I've seen ones that wouldn't run but looked like they "could" go for a $1000.

It could also be a Ferguson 35 which would have had a tach and hour meter (unless its a 'special'). A TO30 would only have one shift lever whereas a TO35 or Ferguson 40 would have two shift levers.

I'm late to the dance, but I just saw a nice repaint sitting along the road with $2700 on it.

FWIW, I have a '54 TO30 I recently paid $1900 for. Paint is there, but ugly. Tin is all straight. 3-point does what it should. One rear tire is checked and a little shy on tread, but the other is about 80%. No mechanical issues and it doesn't smoke. It came with a Dearborn trip loader and a home-made counter weight, which is why I bought it. This was near Mexico, MO.
