Michigan Wheat

Hey I'm here sitting in Sparrow Hospital Lansing with my wife and wondering/worrying if anyone has tried any wheat yet?

I told the wife she's going to be here on her own Sunday while I bale some more first cut hay. She's not happy about that.

I haven't seen or heard about anybody trying it yet.

How's she doing anyway? I was thinking about her after I got the engine out of the White for some reason.

I wonder how Mike Henry's wife is too. She was supposed to go under the knife in Ann Arbor.

All still standing hereabouts. I think everyone/everything is really behind due to weather. Pretty sure we were getting the wheat off by this time last year.

I saw Mike's post.

She's doing as well as can be expected. She had surgery Thursday and removed a mass. They said it seemed to vascular and bloody, but not attached to anything. Docs didn't think it was cancer but won't know till the lab report comes in and it's now the weekend....

Just starting to think about eating. Been up and walked both yesterday and today.

The wheat on my farm is out of the field. Averaged 104 bushels per acre. I wanted to ge pictures of my Grandson with his new combine. has all the bells and whistles except auto steer. His new sprayer does. I would have been tickled with 60 bushels when I was farming it. Straw was in waist high windrows out of the back of the combine from the thirty foot head. We are on the South side of the Ohio Turnpike at the three mile post. Nine mile South of Camden. Close to Michigan.

The wheat here is still in the field. I heard that a couple of guys are saying it might be a record for them, the crop looks very good.

Nobody touching it around me yet.
Looks short height wise to me this year, but none laying down either.
Best of luck to you and your wife. I hope all goes well!

The guys around me are starting to cut wheat. Was talking to a guy up by Carson city. He told me about a friend of his near St. Johns took a lod in and was 13.5. The big guy around Owosso is cutting here today. The combines were on 21 by the woods thid morning.

We ran mine this afternoon. This year I had a lot of giant ragweed and my old Allis 60 doesn't like it much. Neighbors newer John Deere does a lot better. Don't know the moisture yet but the yield was about 55 bu/acre which is great for me.
