Hi

I am having some trouble determining the model of this tractor, the man who sold it said it was a Ford 3000, is that likely?

I can post a picture of the unit code but it is only partial..

And here are the tractor codes even though they are hard to read. I cannot make them fit any of the Ford 3000 codes.. any help would be appreciated.

I can't read the serial # from here.
I can say you have either a 2000 or 3000 diesel.
The tractor was built pre 4/68 based upon louvered hood and wrap around grill.
If a 3000 it's pre 66 or so based on the light front bolster. But might be a 2000 based upon the lighter cross section front axles.
From here it looks like a British built tractor based upon the front lights and the the step plates sort of look wider than US step plates and what little I can see of the fender.
A side photo would let us see the tin height, step plates and style of fenders.
But it really doesn't much matter if a 2000 or 3000 as for all intents and purposes they were almost identical machines.
3000 has 3 or 4 more ponies.
On those early ones the 3000 would have square rear axle housings and 2000 round. 3000 may have differential lock, 2000 would not. 3000 would have flow control valve, 2000 not. 3000 would have covered draft control spring, 2000 exposed spring.

The B at the beginning of the serial number indicates it came off
the Basildon, England assembly line. The headlights in the grill
and wide step plates agree with that.
The English Fords sometimes had their numbers stamped
differently than U.S. models. Try checking the same place on
the opposite side of the tractor for the model and unit numbers.

Looks like a British 2000, if so it will have 6
gears.
It could be a May built tractor. Perhaps the engine
number on the side of the block, just above the
sump join may be of some help. If 2000 it will
start "L", if 3000 "N".

Thanks for all the answers.

On the other side of the engine it says C 7008.

I'm posting a couple more pictures..

It has a lot of the same features as my 4600. which would be the next style newer then a 3000, so it could be a 3600? someone else who is more familiar will need to answer. I love my 4600 with 3cyl diesel.

If it's a 3000, it should be stamped on the upper
right front corner of the transmission, plus a plate
in the engine compartment area...
