NHBalerman, Go back to your JD dealer and TEll Him You need a Box of John Deere Corn Head Grease! Go to the Computer and find it. Most all JD dealers in Texas Carry it. Even in areas where Corn is not grown for many many folks use in in gear boxes that leak out regular gear Oil. If he can't find it ask him for the Phone number of his JD Area Rep. or Simply request a 800# for JD Customer Service.
Ask him if he wants his JD Area Rep. or JD Customer Service to know he is too Stupid for Words!!!
Bet he find it in short order.
OBTW... Don't deal with the Newbys at the Parts Counter, Ask for the Old man who has been there 20 yrs, He Knows Exactly where it is!, and on what shelf it is on!!
Later,
John A.

They should be able to get it. Its #00, almost like super thick oil. I picked up a case at my industrial JD dealer...the parts guy didn't know what it was but had a case for me the next day.

My Tractor supply has it. In the back by the three point hitch pins etc, not in the grease and oil area It is in a quart bottle The brand is Super S Cotton Picker spindle Grease
Description says
"Super S NLGI 00 Grease meets or exceeds the John Deere JDN-360 and JDN-380 specific cautions for cotton picker spindle lubricants. It is widely used in gearboxes on bush hog type cutters and some gear cases on riding lawn mowers."

I get the CIH version of the same thing at my dealership. It works good in my old gearboxes. Its not an JD only product.

shoot, blend up your own mix; wheel bearing grease, 90 wt/ gear oil, coat hanger, elec drill, in coffee can.. get it thick as you like

Some inexpensive riding lawn mowers use the same "corn head grease" in their manual transmissions, they just called it something different. It was ideal for that use.

I needed lube for the gearbox on a Cushman "Minute
Miser" scooter. I walked into my nearest John Deere dealer,(West Salem, Wisconsin), and asked
for "Corn Head Grease". They had a real nice display rack, which included Corn Head Grease.
The parts man was interested in what it was to
be used for, and agreed that it was appropriate !
It softens up, in use, and lubricates, but thickens when sitting, and doesn"t leak from
warn seals !

Thanks to all ,I went to my tractor supply today and there by the three point pins and etc was the grease 00 got three bottles all they had.

Interesting,3 Qts. were on the shelf at the local TSC when I bought a Qt. earlyer this week.TSC is pretty strict on their store layout ,what is on display and where.About amonth ago,in a heavey rain, the store manager was moveing lawn tractors after some company reps. told him to get them moved to an approved location.
