It won't rain now until September. I just finished up the last of the hay. 55 acres all alone since mid afternoon Tuesday.
I started cutting Tuesday afternoon after that morning rain started to dry off,by 10:30 yesterday morning I had it all on the ground with a 9 foot haybine. I started raking the first of it at 12:30,raked til 2:30 then started baling. By 7:45 last night I had 122 bales rolled up. I started raking again at 8:45 this morning, finished a few minutes past noon. I was baling by 1 o'clock. I just finished at 7:45. 296 bales total in a day and a half.
An old man crowding 60 shouldn't work that many hours. Fatigue has set in and long since passed.

Got three loads of hay under tarps. What I baled Thursday and Friday is fairly decent stuff. Other load i have to apologize to the critters when serving. Got a bunch of work in the barn before I can mow away new stuff.

Ya this is going to be frustrating to watch all the rain slide right along the south side of 57 the rest of the summer.

Plenty of snakes. The buzzards had a good time with the rabbits that I killed. I got a skunk in the last field. I think I actually ran over him with the tire. Thank God I missed him with the rake so he didn't end up in a bale.

Still making small ruts in the bean field spraying. Just finished spraying today. Got about 10acres of first cutting to finish as soon as this rain passes by so next week can finish that. only get 3 days in a row to do hay.
