Got done with all that summer fallow at 5:30 last night and it starts to rain at 6:30. Good slow rain until 10:00pm.

In 7 days, she'll be green as a gourd and we'll do it all again. :>)

My old field cultivator needs new bushings and doesn't do a very good job anymore.

I'll just kill 'em when they be babies with the spring tooth until it's rod time.

Nice looking outfit. I miss seeing the tractors of the 60s 70s and the 80s out in the fields. The "stuff" they have now days is boring.

I agree! the older tractors with their 2tone paint, whtie stripes, chrome, classic styleing......Looked sharp! Still my favorite. Same thing with automobiles.

I figured roundup would be cheaper than the diesel fuel to pull the disk and allow you to keep your organic matter.

Even the name brand stuff at full price is only $7 an acre. Even if it cost you $10 an acre to apply the stuff that's only $17 an acre. I sure thought that would be cheaper than disk blades, tires and diesel fuel on a per acre basis? It doesn't take much fuel to pull a sprayer with a 50' swath.

Using roundup rather than the disk isn't being lazy. It's being input minded and good a steward of the land. That disk causes compaction and loss of organic matter every time it gets pulled through the field. I'm pretty sure no one would classify you as lazy for such an act.

Not trying to run your show, I just dont know that I fully understand and was wondering. There must be something I dont understand.
