Sorry for the earlier video guys

Looks like my post on the America got poofed for some reason. I guess after reading some of the comments, before it got gone, I could see where things must have gone South somewhere. I'm sorry that the posting of something I just thought was cool could turn into a politically charged, poofable thing.

For those that didn't see the video, it's still up on the crawlers board, where things seem to be a bit more civil.

I enjoyed watching it, and can identify. I was a cold war sailor (Yoeman) aboard the old Wasp CVS-18 back in'59-'61. Everything was still old school. The airdales (brown shoes) still wore soft skull caps with no ear muffs, and no AC in the crews quarters. It was my greatest adventure.

Sorry. Some people are just waiting for any chance to express their political views. Most of us don't care much, but then there's the guy that gets offended because his political views differ from that first guy's views and feels compelled to tell the first guy how wrong he is.

They both show up eventually and as the saying goes - that's when the fight started.

I had (or maybe still have) an ex-brother-in-law that was on the Wasp in that general time frame.

Name was Warren Walter Penney - went by the name of "Penn".

Can't recall Stan. With a little over 1000 men ship's company, not including the men from the squadrons aboard, that ship was like a beehive. (grin) A self contained floating city.

I've only seen your Florida state once. That's when we pulled into NAS Mayport to unload one of the squadrons. Like to go visit there someday.

I watched the video last night if its the one I think you're talking about...USS America, right? I didn't see who posted it, obviously you. Didn't read any of the posts, figured it spoke for itself. I didn't see a problem with the video. Must have missed something.

Oh, and thanks for posting the video...I think. Don't be starting no more trouble. Grin.
