Two windrows left to bale last night before dark and front wheel decided to fall off. Buried the front axle under about ten inches of dirt. Went over to the neighbor this morning and got a spindle off his 2590 and ended up dropping the whole thing on my right foot when I took the snap ring off that was holding it in. Brought it back and of course the shaft was a quarter inch too big so I took it back and got another one off a smaller Case. The shaft was about two inches too long on that one but I got it to work. Finished baling the two windrows before dark and rain tonight. Parked the tractor and took the loader back to the house and went back to bring the tractor and baler. Made it about sixty feet before a hydraulic line blew under the cab and the tractor came to a halt. By that time it was dark so I called it a day.

Well, I could say, When it rains, it pours, but a lot of people have been having to contend with that also. Sometimes things just kinda make you shake your head and wonder.

A day where You wonder Can I go back to Bed and start this one over! With Machinery these days will happen, Just got to work through it. Be patience and take you time Don't get in a Storm doing your repairs, Don't Snap at your help, that will not help the situation,... That sure enough won't help either. A Prayer for the Lords Help!, Before you get started again will help too. At least I find it does when a given situations has Stepped all over my Feelings.
Say, I really do Like your bale mover on the front of that ol Case of Yours Clean, Neat, really Nice! Make it a better day today!

Probably won't be. Looks like it is going to rain again and I have to go down and try to figure out where the hydraulic leak is under the cab of that old beast.

Well, it would appear that he could floor it in 1st, thus picking the front end off the ground, and someone stupid like me could be standing right next to it "ready" to stuff a few blocks under it... :) Bryce

That's not a good thing. I got to change out a couple spindles on a JD 4840 over one summer way back that looked a lot like that except the 16.5-16.1 tire full of fluid was under the tractor. But that is a long story. lol Did you ever get that Unimog with the tracks going? I haven't been out that way lately, but I'll stop again when I do.

Yes. Finally got the tracks on and the boss drove it twice and one of the tracks kept coming off so I had to make some track guides to keep them on. Have pictures, just haven't had the time to post them yet.

Was working for a neighbor one time, and busted a front spindle. He showed me the trick of chaining that side to the loader, then lifting the loader, to get that side off the ground. He wanted me to go back to baling! Had to talk like a Dutch uncle to change his mind- pointed out that all the weight on one spindle would probably break it in short order, too, and then we WOULD be in a fix. I finally nursed it back to the farmstead, and we went parts hunting.
