will be visiting Lincoln for work assignment, besides visiting the Larsen Tractor Test Museum, what can I anticipate finding to do?

If you like history and architecture the Capitol building is nice. It is Art Deco style. They should have the upper level open and you get get a nice panoramic view of the city.

The tractor test area on East Campus always fascinated me. I think there is now a museum that is open to the public out there.

Morril Hall on the University of Nebraska is good. It's a museum with all manner of ancient critters, mastodons, etc.

SAC museum 20 miles east of Lincoln at the 426 mile marker on I-80 is great to visit. It has airplanes up to and including a B52 and SR71 Blackbird on display.

During the summer, small towns around the area have annual firemen's picnics and ethnic celebrations. You can always have a good time at them.

If you have any interest in internal combustion stuff......you need to go to the Bill Smith Speedway Museum. A HUGE collection of antique race cars, pedal cars and hot-rodded early engines starting with Model T up thru modern Indy cars. Hopefully you will get Rich as your tour guide. Have fun

There's a big ruckus over it right now. The University of Nebraska now owns the property and hired a demolition company to take the original main building down. NU said the building was unsafe, yet a 3 ton wheel loader was on the roof and the second floor knocking walls down.

It's now partially down and it turns out neither NU or the demolition company got a permit to demolish it. That was as of a day or two ago.

Agree on the Speedway Motors museum!!! You will be blown away even if you don't like cars or history...lol.

Kawasaki plant may do tours, I did one in 1988 or so.

Eagle Raceway dirt track east of town at Eagle, NE.

I read somewhere not long ago that the tractor test museum tractors were getting auctioned off, maybe it was not all of them.

Can't go to Lincoln without a trip to Harbor Freight tools to get a whiff of China. I need to return my broken battery charger too....

I'll second the SAC museum.

There is a Union Pacific Rail Road museum in Council Bluffs that is also very good. A Big Boy locomotive is on display in Omaha.

visit the UNL stadium
the state museum of history
the roller skating museum
the telephone museum
sheldon art gallery
addition to the others that have been mentioned
