I posted a message a couple weeks ago about this but still haven't been able to get the head off my farmall h. the head will move a little on the one side but wont budge on the other side. I pretty sure that the head is rusted to the studs but how do I get it unstuck. Ive put PB blaster on the bolt and put the nut back on and hit it with the hammer a couple of times but that did not work.

I find it hard to believe that the head studs are rusted to the head. Assuming all of the nuts are off, get a large tapered chisel and a heavy hammer and have a go at it.

Did you remove the brass fitting at the rear of the head?
Won't come off unless you do.

Check. recheck, and triple check that you found all the bolts! BTDT... Embarrassing and expensive way to find I missed one!

If you can get to them, try double nutting and getting as many studs out as possible. The rusted ones probably won't come out. Put the nut on loosely and tap side to side, try to get the rust penetrant to go down. Some heat on the head might help, but be careful! The more you can move the head around, the more likely the rust will finally give it up.

Try diesel instead of the pb and try to get the head warm, got a rose bud? I unstuck some pistons once with diesel in the cylinders and burned it off, Freed up nicely. Good luck! joe

how did you get it unstuck after you put diesel in the cylinders? Did you just keep putting a lot of weight on the crank starter?

You could try driving a hardwood wedge in the side that is stuck, just pick a spot where you won't be hitting the push rods or the studs. I don't know if that will work in you case but it may be worth a try.
