Oliver 1650 Hydro fluid

I want to change the hydro fluid on my 1650. The stick says to use Type A but when I went to purchase some the salesman suggested I use type F as the "new" type A is too harsh for older tractors. Anyone heard this before?

You're talking about the Hydrapower two speed right? I don't know about the 'A' and "F" anymore,but most of us are running Dexron or DexMerc combo. I'm running the combo myself. Having good luck with it.
