Does anyone know what kind of loader this is in the photo? It came with a John Deere A and came with a snow blade too. Maybe some cable type? It has a pulley at the end of each cylinder. It doen"t look like a John Deere 45 or 25 loader.

That is either a "Horn" or a "Twindraulic" loader from the 40s or 50s. My Dad had one on a '36 A JD when I was still in diapers.

My guess it is a very early Horn-Draulic loader. My dad bought a Twin-draulic loader about 1947?? . It did not have any cables or pullys and it was one of the first ones. This bucket is not like a Twin-D bucket. Any loader was better than a fork.
Back in the 40 s there were lots of small companys in Iowa making loaders , so who knows. clint

Horn sounds familiar.....Dad bought our first loader (well used) in 62 or 63.....had cyl and cables like that with similar shaft under the belly of the WD. Clumsy thing but better than a fork. The one I bought in 72 when I started farming might have been a Horn.....shaft under WD was similar, but no cables....all mechanical linkage to lift. Mtg brackets were on rear axle. On second thought....Caswell brand comes to mind.....

Any ideas on how the two straight arms of blade attached to tractor or loader? There is a single hole at end end of arms, but I don't see anything to attached them to on the loader. The two front brackets bolt to the loader frame where the bucket bolts on.
