freezing sleeves

Does it hurt sleeves to be froze to long I just got an engine sleeve and was going to stick it in the freezer tomorow but it won't go in till Thursday or Friday. So my question is will it hurt them to be in to long?

reminds me of thinwall sleeves I installed yrs ago. left them in freezer o/night, but 50 yds to shop. took them all at once-I worked as fast as I could but they went from slip fit to locked up half-way down on #4. panic-tried to help with hammer. ordered new one. 2 trips or dry ice woulda been smarter. yep. we get wiser with age.

I rebuild engines for a living. I personally have never seen any advantage in freezing them. As soon as they touch the block the cold is sucked out. I press all dry sleeves out and in with a hydraulic press. The old Ford dealer that used to be near me did it that way for 50 years. To each his own.

Will not hurt, but as discussed they will reach cold within a couple of hours. We would pack the valve seats for homogenizers in dry ice, to get them to fit.

I"ve frozen quite a few of them over the years with no problem. The one thing to watch out for is that the frost created from freezing them will cause a flash rust because they are so brightly finished. So, make sure you give the bore a coat of oil or something like WD40 to keep that from happening.
