Does anyone else get calls all the time from these a-holes I have got three already today nine in the last week every time I asked to be taken off the call list I even asked to talk to a supervised and they still keep calling it is just hard not to yell the poor kid on the phone but what do you do

Yell at 'em! They deserve it. If I'm in the right mood, I mess with their mind and they quit calling!

If it is a rainy day and you have some time to spare, let them ramble on and sound real interested in making a big order with them, go through all the details for shipping, volume discounts etc.
When they ask for a credit card number tell them;
-My mommy is not home right now.
-They took my credit cards when they admitted me which was good because the voices are quieter now.
-Ask if they have any cookies cause you really like cookies.
-Ask them to hold a minute so you can transfer them to seargent ..... he takes care of all outside purchases.
You get the idea be creative and have some fun.
Every minute you waste for them is one less minute they can spend bothering or trying to rip off somebody else.
I can't say for a fact that they will take you off there list when you do things like this, but I can say after taking this approach for the past few years we are down to two or three calls a month where in the past two or three calls a day was not unusual.

My understanding is that no sales calls can be made to a cell phone unless they did business with you previously.
I searched on line and hundreds of people say they get a call daily where the phone rings once and if they ansewr on first ring noone is on the other end. Calls to the # go unaswered or answered by uninteligable noise. Noone can figure what the caller gets out of it. The number is 855-703-4201 until you block the #,then without missing a day, calls continue from same number except last didgit. I have gone from 4201 through 2 3 4 to presently 4205 over the past month. I did hear about a scam similar to this that if you called the missed #,the charge was $50 per minute. 855 area code shows to be toll free but who knows.

I like to do that to. Was getting calls every few days for a free house security system. They did not tell you about a monthly charge until the end. I kept telling them send everything that was free and I will hook it up. Also, told them they can keep the monthly charge. It was funny how their attitude changed.

i get those one ring hang up calls all day at the shop. its a computer call center searching for active phone numbers. when the call is answered, the computer identifies the nuber as active and it is then used for robo-telemarketers.

Do what I do. I have an "El Cheapo" plastic Police Whistle that I blow LOUD & HARD when they start their spiel. Next thing you hear is dead silence and then a click, and they're gone. After a couple of times of this they remove your number from their list. IT WORKS!

This is a good approach!

A couple more lines....

Could I call you back in a couple hours? At home?
What's that number again?

I don't believe anyone likes me. Do you like me?

Do you have some time to just talk to me ? It's been a really hard day...

Are they selling rust converter? Never heard of that. I have had a couple calls in the past year trying to sell me a weed and brush killer.

Also works with a CB radio. Before I had the business FM system, the CB was next to the phone. Keying the mike put a terrible back feed into the phone, and people didn"t call back.

I got a call one evening and the lady sounded real nice. I let her start on her talk and then interrupted her and told her that I was not a young person and some things only happen once about every 6 months. I then told her that tonight was the night and her call ended it and I would have to wait another 6 months. She was so sorry and she apologize about 10 times and then hung up. I get very few call anymore. What ever you do have fun and don't get mad, because if you do you are lowered to there level.

Bob

About the only calls I get anymore are the ones that tell me they can lower the interest on my credit cards, "push button "x" to talk to a representative." So I push button, party comes on line,"Are you responding to the lower interest rates?" "Yes." "And how much do you owe on your credit cards?" (It must exceed a certain amount or they can't help you). "Not a damxxd thing,I don't even have a credit card, and if you people would do your homework, you would quit calling me!" They generally hang up without another word. I just love to pixx them off!

I suppose you guys would prefer all these telemarketers to be knocking up girlfriends in order to get their welfare money. At least they have a job as unpleasant as it may be. Some could be fifty-somethings laid off workers who can't get anything rewarding but are too proud to collect.

Maybe you should just stop them and thank them for doing such a thankless job to stay off government support.

These people are the TRUE Americans. It's wasn't their idea to cold call random phone numbers, but it's a paying job. It's not what they want to do, but they're doing it to provide for themselves and their families.

If you want to mess with them, a LEO friend of mine told me to answer with this. ' Greenville county Sheriffs Dept. Fraud Division, how may I help you.'
