Changing the oil

Hello, not so long ago I purchased a 1949 Farmall A which I'm getting ready to cut grass with.
I would like to change the oil before I start working it but for the life of me I can't figure out how. To be honest I'm not even sure how to check it.
Can anyone out there help me?

Drain is in the bottom of the pan. Change filter also and fill with 5qts. There are petcocks in the pan below the carb oil will come out after it has been changed at the top one and never run engine if nothing comes out the bottom one without adding oil till it comes out the topone.
