OT 97 f250 powerstroke

Help! I have a 97 F250 7.3 powerstroke. Truck basically sat for 2 months in paint and body shop.Got it home saturday. Now it runs maybe 15 to 20 seconds starts running rough,check engine light comes on. If left alone it dies. Will restart, no check engine light but does it again. Crank sensor was replaced under recall. Truck only has 162000 miles. Thanks.
 
1. NOT much use in speculating on what's wrong without pulling the codes and seeing what"s irritating it.

2. Putting that aside, is the crankcase FULL of clean oil? (The HEUI"s depend upon the HP oil pump being fed a continuous flow of clean, dry, non-aerated oil from the engine oiling system.)

3. Besides all the "high tech" stuff the lift pump needs to be working, it needs clean fuel and a clean fuel filter, and CLEAN diesel fuel.
 
ask around and find a pro familiar with the powerstroke. we had a problem with out 450 super duty wrecker, random loss of power. shut the truck off, restart, ran fine for days, then it would recurr. it went to two independant shops, and then the dealer. close to 10k later, the truck is still down. after each shop worked on it, new problems arose. now they say it probably needs injectors.
