The killer pond blob?
Same stuff lurks the banks of my pond.

So, I got a 20ft section and a 6ft section of 2in square tube.

Welded 8in long, 1/2in rebar along the 6ft section. Welded on a 2 1/2in section so it will slip together, and I can take it appart, so it won't take up so much room when im not using it.

Welded a hook to both ends, as it bows with all the weight 25ft out.

Back up to the edge of the pond, drop the boom, drive forward.

A singe pass nets a pile that weighs about 500lbs

After that, let it sit in the sun a few days to dry out. Hit it with the zero turn, and its gone.

Looks like its doing a good job. I built one like that for a fellow a few years ago to do the same thing. Used a landscape rake on the end of a 15' piece of 4'' pipe. But he was using it on a big 4 wheel drive Massey . Where are you located?

Nice contraption, but I agree with dblair. Check with your ag agent. Lots of products available that will kill that stuff permanently.

We had a serious infestation of duck weed. Got some product from our ag supplier. It took a while, about 6+ weeks, but stuff is gone. So far, it hasn"t come back this year.

I can kill it. Problem is, it then sinks to the bottom, rots, and reduces pond volume.

Its a Yanmar 336d.

Good job on that device, very neat how it works. Also, beautiful boxers. I love boxers and always wanted one.

Nofbdybs,
For a smaller "touch-up rake" check out "The Weeders Digest.com" in Minneapolis.
I'm on my 3rd season with their aquatic weed cutter and use it on all 6 of my ponds. It has held up great.

Rodeo will kill it. roundup isn't right for in water, the soaps are all wrong for the creatures in the water. Rodeo is the same stuff, different soap, for water use.
