I was talking to my neighbor who's a farmer and his dad and him used to help my great grandparents and my grandma farm and we have to of my great grandpa's tractors a ford 8n and a case 530 well he had a third one a far all but no one in my family knew what model it was sold probably back in the 80's well I found out my neighbor told me what it was he remembers it it was a far all 350 he said just like my grandparents my great grandpa hated that farmall and only used it if had to and to run the hammer mill. Well also the guy that bought it passed a few months ago and will probably have an estate sale I'll to if there is one but will never have enough money saved up to buy. Well though I should share this

A Farmall 350 comes in several flavors. If it is a diesel and does not run perfectly, do not bid on it.
If a diesel and runs perfectly, it is still a low production tractor with a diesel engine made by Continental. It is an engine with very few parts easily available. Those that are available are very pricy. It also is a tough starter and modest in power.
The Gas engined Farmall 350 is a far finer piece of equipment. The parts are easy to find, and modest in price. If it is running, not smoking, usable tires, and operational hydraulics, it is a good find. It is a relative of the Farmall H, but modern with live hydraulics, live independent PTO, and 10 speeds forward and 2 reverse (assuming it has a working TA.)
Price would be dependent on condition, but if nice, $3000 is reasonable, if rough or stuck, less than $1000. Jim

Hey now, don't beat the kid up!! He has got quite a lot of drive and is going to have quite a nice collection one day!! I personally hope that he can get his grandpas tractor back...

On another note though, LOTS of people on this forum don't type "correctly" they type in the way that I call Hunt-N-Peck-Er... :)

Good luck! Bryce

maybe you don't have the money today to buy it back, but if you go to the auction try to learn the identity of the person who buys it and keep in touch with them. There is a possibility that some day in the future, when you have the funds to buy it you'll be in the good graces of the person bought it and be able to get the old girl back. Good luck.

I agree 100%! Younger guys come on here and other sites to learn, and the older crowd bashes the way they type, when others purposely type wrong, no wonder the youngsters dont like the hobby! Too many old poots bashing them! Another tractor site I visit doesnt allow this type of behavior! Everybody is equal, regardless of age!

I enjoy a good sarcastic sense of humor, but that only works if the first person has one too and understands its all meant in good fun.

I also can't spend worth a dern, to the point auto correct doesn't even know what I try to type......

$2000-2500 tractor maybe?

As mentioned, see of you can strike up a conversation with the buyer.

I bought a Ford 5200 at an estate sale 60 miles north of me. When I got on it a couple nephews and a grand kid came chatted with me. The grand kid said take good care of grandpas tractor when we parted.

That conversation still sticks with me, I just had the tractor reworked this winter, we put in a few more parts than needed to get by, the engine is a little tired but the rear of it is back in top shape and a new instrument cluster to look and work well.....

I'm keeping up my end. ;) put more hours on that tractor than the others I have, nifty tractor for my operation.

just as long as it is not a parts breaker. Those guys are a PITA... they drive the prices crazy and blow everyone out of the water.

Yeah, keep in mind what the others said about making contact with the buyer if you can't afford to bid.

My grand-daughter asked a local guy about first dibs on her great-grandfather's Farmall H if he ever wanted to sell it, and the guy GAVE it to her.

It's still not exactly a "free" tractor - they've spent enough on it that they could have bought one in running condition, but it wouldn't have been "Grandpa's" tractor.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone I will get in contact with the buyer. If it is in as good of shape as it was when it left it will not need much I doubt the owner ever used it that much

Nick,
Don't give up if you don't get it. Keep in contact with the buyer, things can change in the future. It took me over 15 years to buy my grandfathers Farmall H, so keep at it.
