O/T Pictures from Skye - Scotland

We had a trip to Skye a couple of weeks ago, its a small island off the west coast of Scotland.

I thought I would post a few of the many pictures I took of the fantastic scenery.

Thank you very m,uch. Like to see those Highland cattle. And that"s how a stone wall is supposed be built.

Bill:

Beautiful pictures. Thanks for posting them. It's nice to be able to see other parts of the world; places that I would never get to see for myself, at least not in this lifetime, lol .

What are the "cattle" in pictures 8 & 9 ? To me they look like Yak's.

P.S.: "Pahrump" - Anglicized Shoshone Indian term meaning "water rock" for all of the Artesian springs that existed here. - Doc

Bill,

Great pictures! Brings back fond memories of a day trip we took from Inverness (no, we never saw Nessie) to Skye back in 1985.

Thanks for posting.

Ahh, the moors and heather. They'll be greening in a few more weeks. It's been many a year since I was there, but a beautiful country just the same. We have our own yak in our herd....

I enjoy seeing pictures of the area part of my family came from as I'm pretty sure I'll never get there myself. Thank You

That's some pretty rough country- but the Highland cattle look like it works for them. Thanks for posting.

They are also called "Lo OX". It was on NPR tonight the 23 of april. They are trying to "recreate" the original oxen of Europe and then plan to "REwild " areas of England and Europe. Can the NUTS get any Nuttier? Jeffcat
