What glue or permatex , possibly seafoam ( toungh in cheek) ,,or what ever will repair Hood. Cost of new hood is more than the mower is worth. Anybody used something that works well?

use "SPEEDGRIP" urethane structural adhesive.
for bonding and repairing,
plastic
smc panels
metals
fiberglass
wood.
bodyshops use it.
you would be surprised that car panels are glued together with this stuff. its as strong as a weld.

I'm curious, where did it break? JD 345 I run broke at the pivot point on the right side, right above the exhaust. I wonder if the heat from the exhaust makes it brittle. Fortunately it's a separate smaller piece, not the whole thing had to be replaced.

I am with R on this one, the fiberglass repair kit for autozone. Sand it a little and follow the directions in the kit. Get some latex painters gloves before you start then you can work it in real good.

I repaired my tractor grille with a solder iron and some metal from hose clamps and better yet small pieces of perferated metal. Take the perferated metal set in place over crack put solder gun on it an pull trigger and it heats up thus melting the plastic thru the holes and when it cools it stays put.

Now don't go nuts on me. There are a lot of ways to fix hoods but the older ones are fiber glass and the newer ones are plastics. There are lots of hoods on flea bay and also there must be some mower parts yards around. I have gotten all kinds of parts at two wrecker yards over the years. I know Deere is a Bi=t... on hood parts as they want to nail you for EVERY part that makes a hood and not just the whole thing. Part by part is a big pile of money. Have fun.

you can fix the place it is broken at now ,,nut chances are the older it gets the more it will break, there are several models of deere mowers the hoods get brittle with age once they start breaking apart they just keep breaking. And i know what you mean bout being expensive, i work at a deere dealer
