skid steer problem continued........

After reading all the useful suggestions posted here, I pulled the skid steer out of the barn and was able to lift the arms with the f.e.l. on the 2510. Picked up a new battery at the local NAPA store, cleaned my cables and installed it. Since I had good access I removed the water separator filter and drained that, checked that when I turned the switch on, fuel pumped then replaced that filter. I purged the line right up to the injector pump, then open the injector line nuts on the top of the pump and cranked the engine. I got a small amount of fuel from one nut, but nothing from #3 nut (I couldnt loosen 2 as it seemed like it was not spinning properly) so I put it all back together, cranked, no start, no white smoke. Tried bleeding more with same results, finally gave up as battery was getting weak. Put the charger on and came home.
Any thoughts? This is a 3 cylinder yanmar diesel, read on line that they came be a bear to bleed.

skidsteerforum.com has some pretty sharp guys that hang out there.

Sounds like you're on the right track.

Is there another air bleed screw on top of the injector pump?

Are there glow plugs? Some are manually actuated with a toggle switch.

Not knowing what injection pump is on the engine, I can only assume its a PFR style, sits in the engine block w/ 4 bolts holding it down?
It probably has and electric shut off solenoid screwed into the left hand side? Unscrew the solenoid and reach in the hole and push/pull on the main control rack to see if it will move. The rack may be stuck in the shut off position.

Could The pump guysc or supertrucker give more detail about that solenoid? I did notice a solinoid on the left side rear but did not know what its function was/is. Is it powered continuously, or on start ?

I did not see your previous post, so I searched it out and found this is a John Deere 575 skid steer 3 cyl yanmar diesel. I believe I may be able to shed some light as to your problem. I had similar problem with my brothers JD 4410 compact tractor. It had very complex system, took me a week with the JD dealers shop repair manual to fix it. Rather than try to type it all out here please contact me via e-mail if you wish..
