got a cub

Got a 1947 cub yesterday and the governor doesn't work. Until my manual arrives, can anyone describe the workings of the governor and posssible remedies?? Thanks Henry (PS I am familiar with the H and M Governor but not the small tractors. Is it the same as the C?)
 
Nice little tractors. Are you aware there is a forum dedicated to only Cubs? Folks there will get you on track in a hurry and have a lot of manuals and other resources that you can access on line while you are waiting for the manual.

the govener did not work on my great uncal's tractor when he got it one of the throtel rods was bent and rubbing on someting i cant rember what but when i took it off bent it and put it back on it worked fine
