tire ballast

And to equal the weight of one loaded tire you will never get close to the fence row . Even back when you could buy a set (2) 150 lb do nuts for 12-15 bucks a set fluid was cheaper . So IF you had a 18.4 x 38 you would need atleast four sets to come close and eight weights stick out a good ways and in today's world four sets at 150 bucks a set times two for both rear wheels adds up fast .

I understand what you are saying TV but, if you buy those weights for $150 a set you could also sell those weights for $150 a set, much harder to store and sell fluid.

Magnesium is much more reactive than calcium. Any bets on how long the rims last, particularly with a sticky substance to hold it there?

Only IF someone is looking for weights . As for me i will use fluid in the tire and if necessary we will hang some iron but only to the edge of the tire . Around here ya ain't going to do much with out fluid in the tires . The one 706 does not have fluid and the old John Deere A does not have fluid and you can forget usen the A to pull a loaded gravity box or the bale wagon with 11 1000lb bales on it on a dry day and if it is the least bit wet ya can forget the 706 as it will spin out on the humps and bumps . The haybine can shove the 706 sideways on a couple fields . The 806 is loaded and it is a lot more stable , 92-9300 lbs verses 13500 with just fluid i use to have four and a half sets on the 806 plus a 1000 on the nose for plowing and at times she was still a little light

(quoted from post at 04:10:17 04/16/14) Ok, Does anyone know what they add to beet juice to make it not freeze?

They add... more beet juice.

Straight beet juice is good to -35F.
