Anybody ordered parts from England?

I found two of the parts that I'm looking for on the David Brown collectors site. Anybody ever ordered parts from anywhere in Europe? I wonder how big a pain in the backside it would be to get them paid for and shipped?

I bought a transfer case for one of my DBs from the UK. It made it to the US but was returned by customs because "package was too dense". I only needed one gear, but could buy and ship the whole unit cheaper than buy the one gear from Wengers.

Shipping is usually the deal killer.

I have ordered quite a few parts from England for my TE-A20 with the 85mm engine. I had no hassles at all other than paying duty and shipping.

I occasionally order stuff for my Ferret armored scout car from England where it was made. In general it"s no big deal although it can be pricey when shipping is added in (but not overwhelmingly so if shipped by Royal Post). I think the folks in the U.K. are more accustom to international dealings than we are here. Credit card or Paypal usually works pretty good as long as you"re aware of the exchange rate in advance.

Ya,I looked up an online calculator 35£ turned in to $58.55 and 15£ was $25.09,but I can't find the parts anywhere else. Not a deal breaker I guess.

I had some horse trailer parts shipped over. Charged it to Mastercard, shipped in 10 days. Shipping was about $20. I called and ordered them, easy to do.

As an ex-pat, i"ve done it lots, better to use Royal Mail /USPS rather than couriers, less brokerage/tax charges somehow (or at least they don"t ding you as hard).
If you"re ordering from a known company then don"t be too worried, they do it lots over there... If you are using a credit card, and the parts are expensive, maybe let the card company know before you order, it will stop issues, i"ve had cards declined because the card company thought the transaction looks suspect...

What parts do you need ? And where are you thinking of buying them? Some of the firms in England have very inferior quality parts. I will try to help you with parts if you like? My email is open.....Sam

All the time, from all over, not just England. Just got some stuff in from Turkey. I let the credit card company do the work and the math, shipping can be an issue so its better to have an idea up front but I got a small box off ebay from India and it had less freight than the same size box from the next state.

Check your email and see if it came through. Looks like there's a company that I can't mention here. I don't know if it even let me send it in an email. Must be a competitor.
It's through the DB club though.

These two parts for this. That emblem is just painted black and has an Oliver decal on it when used on an Oliver.

You gotta watch customs when you order things from overseas that arent "friendly" countries. Just got some pistons from Turkey and customs held them for 60 days. Decided to hold them to do a visual check...

I bought three hydraulic pumps from Whitehouse in Great Britain in the past year. No problems whatsoever. In fact the last pump I ordered was in stock in Scotland and was at my door in New York in 5 days. Used my US Mastercard to pay. I also bought a TV antenna preamp last month from England. Again, zero problems.

I've gotten a few things off ebay from England and the cost to ship was pretty reasonable. Also years ago bought a few things for British cars I was working on used to take forever to get them back then.

Are those the right parts? They appear to be common selectamatic era stuff that was used from 1965 and on. The Selectamatic radiator door is available from A&I and Sparex here. Probably the badge is somewhere too if you dig deep enough.

took months to get the pistons for fatherin laws 9000 Ford years ago, wound up scrapping the whole works.

I hàve ordered parts from England several times and had very good luck I was brave and just emailed my card number and they sent the parts .

Ordered some parts from England before. Only downside is the exchange rate and shipping, but actually getting the parts was no problem.

The last parts I bought were still half of what CNh wanted
under 80 dollars US after exchange rate and shipping cnh
wanted 170 US for the same parts
