Want to make some room and get rid of this 2-wheel tractor. Doesn't look the nicest but runs good, electric start. Only attachment I have is the blade. What should I list this for?

It's at my brother's house right now, south of Green Bay, WI

Thanks for the info, looks like I'll have to do some research

You can probably get better information from one of the Gravely websites like the Yahoo Gravely Club

Your pictures show the tractor to be a 1959 model "LI". The "I" stands for intermediate speed, and is considered more desirable than the "L" (which moves too fast for use with many attachments.)

Your pictures don't show if the tractor has the optional governor which runs off the fan belt. The governor is a very desirable option.

The pictures don't clearly show how the blade is mounted. It DOESN'T look like the normal mounting for a 1959 model. It looks like you may have a quick hitch adapter bolted to the tractor, and probably a quick hitch snow blade. The quick hitch adapter and mounting for the quick hitch blade may be more valuable than the tractor itself.

Value seems to depend on location. Gravely's seem to be more common in the Eastern part of the county. They are less common from Indiana west.

Where are you located?

Can't remember what was paid for it, bought at an auction, the starter was bad. Had the starter rebuilt and it's ran good since. Starts up in the winter no problem. Originally had ideas to get attachments to cut brush but was never able to find any near me. Was thinking of asking $150 but didn't know if it was maybe worth more than that.

For the last 10 to 12 years we had a local guy that was nuts about those things. He bought ever one that showed up at auctions or for sale. Made the price stay up but he has finally started letting them go and market is flooded. One like that running would not bring over $200.00 here in these parts ,just no buyers , who wants to try and handle one of those beast.

With just the blade, an old LI like that would be doing good at $250-300.00. If you had more implements the price would go up.

yak,

I bought one similar to yours last year. It doesn't have the snow blade or chains for the wheels but it does have a rotary mower on the front of it.

Mine is from about 1965, I can't remember the exact manufacturing date right now, but it was when Gravely was owned by Studebaker. It's called a Model L6.

The previous owner had just spent $200.00 to have the magneto overhauled. I paid $500.00 for it. That was probably too much, but I sort of owed the previous owner a favor.

They start pretty good. They have an impulse mag like a farm tractor.
