Opinions? BS 'Platinum' Series? Hydro Trans.?

Looking at new Craftsman Mowers. Any opinons on the newer Briggs 'Platinum' 2-cylinder engines? Any opinoins on the Craftsman hydro transmissions?

If its the IC version (Industrial Corporation) of B & S. I have a cousin who has ran one for 15 years, & wont part with it. Its a cast iron block, not aluminum, & runs almost like new. Its sits on a Snapper Frame which is not a good as the engine. Don't know anything about the Hydro's though.

we have one. This is our second season with it. Seems fine. I have the bagging system and it does do a great job of sucking up all the debris. Yard looks as good as if I had raked it.
