I finally have sort of figured out my scanner, and decided to try it on this. I thought some one might get some good out of it. Mike

It would be real nice if someone knew how to take all that and make it a PDF file or establish it in some sort of link that can be downloaded. That type of thing is way beyond me.

FWIW- all the old mainline companies made booklets like that. Deere, Case, IHC, Oliver, etc. I have several of them I got off Ebay or flea markets or used book stores. Good stuff in all of them and while the basics remain the same, the fine tuning differs a little in many of them.

Another source I picked up an awful lot of info from was a horse plowing video put out by Farmer Browns Plow Shop. If you can rent or borrow the video/DVD you'll learn an awful lot that transfers over to trailer and even 3 pt plows.

Of course the trick to all this is not just reading or seeing the info, it's looking at the results of your plowing and being able to figure out what needs adjusting!!! That's the HARD PART!!!

Mike, I've got that same book, though it is dated November, 1948 on the cover. Mine does not say "reprint" so I would assume mine is the original release. Interestingly, in my version, a Case plow is used behind an A John Deere in the pictures for setting up the plow hitch. In your version, the Case plow has been replaced by a 44 JD plow. Very cool book, now I'll have to look for the reprint version also.

if you go to archive.org and type in "plow" and a few other key words you may find some older publications in their entirety. I've found a few manuals there.
