I have a ford 3000. All the lights go out when I speed up. Seems backwards from typical light problems, which you would expect them to get brighter when I speed up.

Are you running the OEM Generator? Could be the brushes! But it could ba as "Wheat Farmer" said so I also highly recommend you check your grounds.

I played with it again today. A spent a lot of time observing what was actually happening.
When I pull out knob to first position, dash light comes on and rear light and they stay on. When I pull out to next position, lights come on for about 30 secs. I can see instantly dash dims, then all lights go out. So I disconnected all rear lights, and same results. If I wait a minute I can turn lights on again, same results, after 30 secs lights out.

you have a short somewhere, either in a wire going to the headlights, inside a headlight itself or in the switch itself. I'm assuming the reason the lights are going out is a breaker trips and then resets itself after it cools off. You'll just have to keep disconnecting wires till you find it. Good time to give the lighting system a thorough examination. Jim
