Northern Ireland's wealthiest man (supposed to be worth £500,000,000 was killed on Friday in a Helicopter crash near to one of his estates in Norfolk,England.
Edward Haughey was the owner of Norbrook laboratory, which made animal medicine and employed over 1400 people in one factory. I am sure it was the largest animal pharmaceuticals in Europe. He also was made Lord Ballyedmond a few years back and set in the House of Lords in the British Parliament. Ironically he had reported a fault in his private helicopter a few weeks ago. I am nearly sure his company invented Ivomec, and other drugs like Nordine, which you may have heard of, or even used.

Your nation has lost an asset. I find no fault in people becoming rich that actually make "new" products.

Bill Gates has his faults but where would personal computing be without his ideas and drive???

Edison was a rich man for his electrical work.
Bell for his inventions. Nothing at all wrong with that.

I do dislike the ones that never create anything. An example would be Warren Buffet. He never has created anything other than corporate games. Just raided one company to add to another. Nothing really gained as a whole just fewer players and money for his pocket.

Same thing happened in Wisconsin a few years ago. A gentleman who built a roofing business into a national roofing supply company. He fell through his garage rood while repairing it.

I hate to hear that on all counts. For the family, company, country, and aviation. My first ride aloft was in a helicopter, as a youth, in about 1965, at the NYS fair.

Now, as a fixed wing pilot, it's my dream to run a rotary wing some day. Not something you want to lose power with! There's an envelope (speed/altitude) that you need to stay out of as you can't auto-rotate out of it.

Sorry to here of the loss.
I hope we can still get our Ivomec. Most guys I know that feed cattle around me use it. I didn't realize it came from overseas.

Was that ride in the Jaycopter at the 64/65 NY worlds fair? I knew Pete Jacobs that invented it. Smartest man I have ever met bar none! Was a very sad day when he passed away from cancer.
