I repaired the outside of an engine block with J.B. Weld and did not get the application as thick as I wanted. I wonder if anybody used multiple applications allowing to cure and apply other layers. Considering light hand sanding between layers

while i have low faith that the jb weld is a permanent fix on a crascked block ( i'd braze it or silver solder ).. yes. you CAN layer jb weld.

sanding is a great idea.

you can make jb weld stronger by using fiber glass with it either chop it up for the fiber or work it into the fabric and press it to the item to be repaired let dry and put a finish coat over top for a nice finish

Can't remember the glue that someone on YT said was the best, not JB. I bought some on line, expensive. It comes with a second bottle used to fill in gaps.

I just loaned it to neighbor to glue an oil seal in tractor tranny. The original seal fell out. He had to split tractor to replace it. So hopefully this glue will hold it in place.

I used multiple layers of JB Weld and fiberglas webbing on a gas tank years ago....still holding.

I jb welded a spark plug (stripped out) in the kids honda 70 thinking they could ride it for a day till i switched out the head. It never did come out.

I repaired a stub axle with it, last week, definitely sand between coats. I pushed a speedy sleeve into the second coat of wet JB, that's what the speedy sleeve instructions said to do.

I used it on the exhaust port on my riding lawn mover muffler would shake loose everyone said it wouldn't work too much heat. Outlasted the lawnmower

We glued 2 D-9's together, back to back and left the pulling against each other [in 1999]
Have been back to refuel them a few times, but JB still looks good.
Just wipe parts down good.
