Broke the all time snow record!

Indianapolis as of Saturday afternoon only needed about 4/10's of an inch to brake the all time season record. We have had snow for about 2 hours now, & heavy at times. I am certain We have done it! Not a record to be proud... just for the record. Old one was 50.5 inches.

Yup. I am down here in Columbus, IN, and I am almost positive we are over the mark too. Snowing to beat the band last I looked (about midnight).

I am almost 56, and have lived in Indiana all my life except for a stint in the Navy, and have never seen this much CONTINUOUS snow fall. The stuff just keeps coming, and the last batch never really goes away.

Of course it will finally depart next week if the forecasts are correct, supposed to get into the 50's.

Spoken as a person that lives on the tundra "you'll be FINE"!

Just think of how much worse off you would be if the creator of the internet hadn't exposed "global warming"!

Not really complaining, as I like snow. Just getting rather tired of it. Having dinked around for several years putting off the resto of my Farmall H, I finally started tearing into it this past December. With the bad winter we are now getting, it has put a serious crimp in my schedule.

My cattle found out about snow depth my.outside fences are permany but inside are electric and they walked overtop yesterday i had them pulled all the way to the top and they were still under the snow stuck post in snow and ran new wire on top of that good tell snow melts

Here in Central PA the snow isn"t exceptionally deep. But with the really cold weather we had before it snowed the ground is frozen deep enough so the next thaw is going to bring on some pretty good flooding. Not much we can do except wait for it.

Made a nice picture with the full Moon this morning though.

Record single snow event in MN is 66". The winter of 96/97 or area had 117". So while you may be proud of your record it ain't nothing and I know that 117" of snow for the season was not a US, much less a world record.

(quoted from post at 10:24:20 02/16/14) I moved to MN that winter, moved back south after the next winter.

David that was my first full winter here in years. I had retired and moved back home the 1st of Feb 96. Made me think about moving.
