Stanadyne Performance fuel Additive

It's good stuff. I would not spend my money on any other additive. Never had a gelling issue using it either.

also on those 6.5 turbo diesel"s ...take the plastic engine cover off and let the pump get some cool air is the biggest thing. that cover keeps it like an oven around the pump. not good. that"s what I did and had no trouble after 90000 km. when pump was redone on warranty. has 400000 now with no pump trouble. did not use stanadyne additive either.

Thanks for all the reply's, I will be ordering some in the morning, not available locally here.

I believe that the JD additive is the same product as the Stanadyne stuff.

I have been using it for several years now and I really like it.

The IP on my 1994 6.5 has over 180,000 miles on it, and is still going!

HOW much longer do you suppose it would have gone if I used $$$$ additives in it?

The Stanadyne additive is not all that expensive as far as additives go. I have seen one go 320K on one pump, so you are just getting started.

Pump shops say that it is the best product out there and to never use power service, Stanadyne makes injection pumps, power service doesn't that's good enough for me

AMSOIL's diesel additives are also very good. Have customers that notice improved performance with one treatment.
email is open.

Another way to look at it. Google "Power Services fuel treatment" and have a look at their home page. You aren't going to tell me that a company of that size, with the beginnings it had, longevity and growth since 1956 are going to mfgr. "snake oil" or something that will harm your injector pump or other parts of your engine in today's law suit crazy economy with all the 100's of thousands of diesels working worldwide, especially with all the SATISFIED customers like me that keep them in business.

Just because someone is in business or a dealer of something and all that doesn't mean they know it all. I have had a lot of interactions with retailers/repair facilities, mechanics, sales folks, clerks, and all, and asked some pointed, specific, questions about certain things and got answers from A to Z. I especially dislike it when someone supposedly in the know attempts to blow smoke.......when I know full well more about the subject than they do and easily recognize their incompetence.

Same can be said for the Stihl dealer in another thread I read earlier today on this forum saying not to believe in Stihl chain saw oil and self contained fuel treatment. Some people are just stupid. Some people just work for the check. Some people don't give a hoot about what they are doing. Some people go off half cocked with an idea without thoroughly thinking through it with competent reasoning. Some people don't bother learning their business..............
