Is there a forum online that is more geared towards raising cattle? I want to start a small herd this spring. Just trying to get some research in. I am located in So. Mn if anyone wonders.

To stay OT, I will use my farmall M to assist me.

Thanks, Ryan

I am semi-retired and sold my herd 105 head of Brangus cows. I had what some would consider a closed herd. All of my females were related, I fed them on grass or grass hay. Very gentle cattle, E-Mail is open any time you want to talk

The university in my state (Nebraska) has a website, beef.unl.edu. It includes an area where people can submit questions to be answered by the professors.

E-mail is open if you want to talk about Alpacas. We had Cattle and Horses our whole life, and Alpacas the last 15 years. Now that I am 70 and all my friends are getting old (LOL)want to slow down just a bit, and spend more time with Tractors.

Have a look at Cattle Today
Lots of information on livestock and lots of knowledgeable members who are quick to help.
And remember there is no such thing as a stupid question until you ask the same one for the third time.

Hi Ryan,
Good question. I have often wondered the same thing myself. I am from southern Minnesota too. I would love to talk cattle anytime. I am not a vet or any super farmer by any means, but always like to lend an ear when someone wants to talk cattle. Let me know. I can send you my contact info somehow if you would like.

wonder if a forum could be started on this site for beef? Lots of us old gear heads on here who also have cows. I am the 5th generation here in north west Michigan and love to swap ideas with other small farmers. I have 50 momma cows.
