Jon f mn's post the other night with the Minnie Mo collection just
off I 29 near Nebraska in Oh ....OOOPS! Iowa, Sparked a memory
for me. We had driven from Davenport, Iowa that day and
stopped for a while at the MM collection, really nice family there,
made us real welcome. We then drove into Nebraska on the 75 if
my memory is right....just to say we had been to NE! then we
headed along the I 90 towards Rapid City.....Looking for a
motel....Well we are not used to big country and we just seemed
to drive and drive and drive some more, Until we came to this
town with a motel, pretty basic , but I never was as glad to see a
motel!. I remember going over a little wooden foot bridge to a
bar, at the side of a garage, I think?...Had a few beers with the
locals and learned a bit about farming and ranching in the
prairies......Would I be right in thinking the town was Presho? I
seem to remember the motel was on a road that ran parallel to
the I 90?????...620 miles that day, I had noted on my map, but
not the name of the town or motel

Yup, go past Presho and a couple of other small towns on the way back to my family about 100 miles south of there. You should have stopped at Pukwana....home of Puck U LOL!

That;s "Jerry's Motel" Stayed there many time while goose hunting north of there and also some pheasant and prairie dog shooting. Some of the most god forbidding land in America around there.

Shannon county to the south. Lowest per capita income in the U.S. Shortest life span in the U.s.
Sioux Indian Reservation.

As a matter of fact, we will be going there on Friday the 14th. Grand daughter has a basketball game there that day. Think they had, or have, a "self service" motel there. You put you money in some kind of a container and take a key for the room you want.
