3pt gooseneck ball hitch

I've been wanting to make one of these for years now. I finally hiked up my big boy pants this morning and made it.
I had this old quick hitch laying around for a couple of years. There's a rod broke in one side so one latch doesn't work. I made up my mind that if I hadn't needed it bad enough to fix it by now I probably wouldn't. So I cut out a piece of half inch plate, welded it on top and put a ball on it.
As deep as the snow is I can't get out in the field with the truck pulling the trailer so it got down to "had to have it".

I had a Cletrac OC-3 that had a ball like that in the bucket. It was used to move trailers around and to put boats in and out of the lake

I have one on my 3pt bale spear and its real handy for pulling trailers out of snowbanks or in and out of a muddy driveway or field.

I left the top link hook right on this one. I cut a hole in the plate and put it down over it,welded around it and cut the excess off the top. It's not going anywhere.

i am getting ready to build me one also, both trailers are snowed in where i cant get to them.i have a bale spear (homemade i think)i got it off a guy at work he was going to scrap it.anyway both the spears will unhook by pulling a bolt out of each one.i am thinking of welding a ball back in the center of it.then just pull the spears off and i got a trailor mover, thats my plan anyway.i will take some pics as i go along with the project.

Looks like it ought to work just fine.
Have you got that on your S-55 there?
Seems like you'd want it on the 4x4 1355 with all the snow?

Well the thought was right, even if I messed up the model #.
All those green tractors look alike to me. LOL

Nice job - it's amazing how much better you can pull a trailer with a tractor than a truck.I welded a 2" receiver to mine, and welded 2" square tube to my spear receiver. That way I can switch back and forth from hitch to spear
