Nylon webbing

I need to attach a hook to a section of nylon webbing. Sounds simple enough except the webbing is too thick to sew. Some sort of military webbing that is extra thick and stiff. I had to take pliers to fold the webbing in half to get it feed into the eye of the hook. How do I now attach the webbing to itself.... Brads, metal plate and brads.... Any suggestions?

With a pair of vice grips, hold a nail. Heat said nail with a torch and melt a hole in webbing. and then use harness rivets or bolts to hold it all together.

I was going to say just use a western saddle knot, but if you had problems getting through the loop once you would probably not be able to get it through twice as needed. That is what I use. Necktie knot, same principle.

Sounds like you have the belting from an aircraft arresting barrier. Fold thru your hook, it can be dilled, or the hot bolt idea, then bolt it with backer plates on both sides.
