And I thought I was the only one to refer to it as the "stupor Bowl".

Looks like its worry you terrible since you are posting about it.Everyone has their poison personally I think the dumbest sport around is fishing where a fish is caught and then turned back loose but hey if someone enjoys doing it more power to them.

I think "Stupor" bowl and "stupid" bowl can be interchangeable.

I just can't imagine anyone stupid enough to pay ridiculous prices to watch overpaid goons play a ball game. Since they aren't participating, what good do they get out of watching a game? Doesn't really do a thing for them except take away their money! Doesn't make them any more muscular, doesn't teach them how to do anything better and certainly doesn't make them a better person.

Actually my daughter was ask if she will work during the game. She is a medical lab tech at a hospital and they told her that if she does she can expect people to be brought in with heart attacks. I guess it's not uncommon for guys to get so excited/angry over the bowl games and have heart attacks.

I do not do football and have been told that i am UN AMERICAN . I was at a truck stop one Monday morning having breakfast at Lake Station In. when a fellow trucker asked me what did you think of the game yesterday , and i said WHAT GAME , the big football game >> didn't you watch it ?? No . WELL EVERYBODY watches Foot Ball , I don't and i was told that i was a un American commy SOB if it did not watch foot ball . We to add fuel to the fire i told him that i did not like hotdogs and apple pie either. As i had no time to set inft. of the tube and waist my time as i had truck work to do and a family to worry about . Now as to the inlaws the world comes to dead stop for football Nascar . Myself i saw a version of NASCAR each and everyday on the road.

I went on a tour of the Dallas Cowboys new stadium couple years ago. An amazing facility, mind boggling the size of the place, loose perspective of how big things are, especially up in the roof, until you see someone walking around and get a comparison...

They took us about half way up in the seats, had us sit while they explained some things about the building. I was sitting next to a "full growed boy", probably 275-300 lbs. He was miserably crammed into the seat, spilling over into mine. At 175 lbs, I was a little tight. They proceeded to explain that during the superbowl, the armrests would be removed so they could fit in x number more seats...

So, would I PAY to subject myself to 4 hours of that misery? Something wrong with this picture!

To me the players are basically like the gladiators of old. But much better paid and if you loose they dont cut your head off.

I would like to see them do just what they do now, except take the football away and give each one of them an axe, mace, sword, or spear. I mean it's all about he violence anyway. Might as well let em take out their testosterone fueled frenzys on each other and do something with it.

I would pay to watch that.

We go to one Cardinals baseball game about once every three years. So big league sports dont get much of my money.

Besides, I could buy a tractor tire for what a dumb game would cost me!!

I totally agree. Only one thing worse and that is hockey. 80 games a year. Takes that many games to decide who is the best. They just can't get enough people in to equal the football revenues per game, so they have to have 3 times the weekly number of game. 75% non us players and they take millions out of this country every year.

Got to agree fishing is certainly boring. Although not much of a professional sports fan, I do follow/watch NCAA men's sports, almost never watch the women. To each his own desire, but hockey, bowling, hunting, rodeo, tennis, soccer, golf, and usually baseball will not be on my watch list.

All professional sports are 'fixed' by the Las Vegas Mob. College too I am starting to think.

The one exception is professional wrestling, that is a real sport.

JED,
MLB (major league baseball) is almost the same way. They play 160 games per team in the regular season, plus any playoffs. I can almost believe they do it just to provide entertainment, but the games are too boring to watch, LOL. I can listen to them on the radio while I do something else though.

I've got a couple men that work for me can tell you just about anything you want to know about ball chasing, they got on the subject of how much money some are paid, I ask them what contribution to society justified their income, wish you could have heard their answers,i had just a soon grub stumps with a dull hoe as sit and watch sports events especially ball chasing

How can anyone justify paying the ticket price to a professional sporting event then having to share an arm rest, if there is any?

For myself, no interest in this "super bowl" or NASCAR in general for that matter. I've saw somewhere they called it the Pot Bowl because it's legal in CO and WA state.
