OT windy,and ice !

I know I should have got video of it today . Delivered snowblower few blocks away . Garbage day, , streets are slick as snot . Every empty can , lid and recycle bin were in the road flying along at 20 mph heading right toward me as I was driving . I had to dodge them for ten blocks . One guy was on a dead run chasing his down . Lot of folks gonna be upset when they come home and no cans in sight . Bet they all end up in guys yard the faces street at tee intersection .

hey farmerwithmutt, What town are you in? I'm in Lancaster.

BTW,

I just got in from splitting wood. Going back out after a little braunschweiger-on-a-cracker lunch. Wind ain't so bad...

Darlington you want to split some of mine
.wich side of lancaster? If you look up on a
map and see an airport south of darlington
thats my place dont try and fly in airport was
a dumb idea that never flew.

Seen in other post your low imput did you get
info on northern ill grazing conferance sounds
like some good topics one is converting Crop
ground to pasture .it is in stockton

No. But you''re welcome to come get the splitter and use it yourself. I just finished. I don't tend to split anything as I have an OWB, but this winter already has made me go through twice as much as I expected by now. I had some pin oak that I cut a year and a half ago. naything under 6" burned fine, but the 18" pieces would boil water out the center, so i split 'em to help'em dry. With the way it's going, I'll need them in the next 6 weeks...

I don't generally take much of an interest in grazing conferences as I don't own cattle. My pasture is rented out to my neighbor who is a seasonal milker and rotational grazer. He's done milking 'til March now. Milks 60-70 cows in a greenhouse with a parlor. No other housing for the herd, except the hillsides and trees. I keep the pastures mowed to keep down the multiflora rose and prickly ash and rotate his cattle through them - 25 head through 40 acres. Not high pressure, but also very low input...

doing a good job like there place.
Thanks for the offer i know what you mean
about splitting got my own and got junk fence
row crap for wood if you dont split it will take

That's the guy. I'm about 3 miles west of him.

I really don't split much. It all gets cut 30", unless it's over 20" across. If I can pick it up and get it into my firebox, it stays in rounds. The farm's got 90 or so acres of woods and three+ miles of fence, so I have plenty of wood. I just need to get far enough ahead that I can leave it lay for 3 years. This year is tearing up my supply, so I gotta split some to try to get it to dry faster.
