Wellllll, just looked out the winder and it's snowing like nobody's business.

Our 14 year old just said to me, "Fool me once - shame on you. Fool me twice - shame on me. FOOL ME 365 DAYS A YEAR - YOU'RE A WEATHERMAN!"

(Sorry - thought I was somewhere else.)

Are you going to get the next batch they say is going to hit? With the possible freezing rain sleet first? OH yea, Mn winters! Looks like it quit here too. Now we are supposed to get 40 MPH winds later today. Guess I'll fire up the 1206 and blow snow this afternoon before the next round hits.

oldtanker,

We will get more... alternating between wind, then more snow, wind/snow for the next few days.

Oddly we already have pretty gusty winds - seems like you would have received them first. We are quite a distance further south and east of you.

I'm just going to work from home today - the driveway and yard get bad at my rural job. Sure don't want my husband to work a 10 hour day, then have to come rescue me because I'm stuck over there. (Would toss my broom in the trunk in case of emergency - but it's no fun to fly in winter storms. LOL)

Well, better clock-in soon and accomplish something.

Ultradog,
Sure don't envy Metro driving in winter.
Here's to a safe trip home to your bride at the end of the day.

I don't know if it would make yall feel any better but it's pouring down rain here.

We have this colored gal in the morning and she is correct most of the time and will let you know what happened when she wasn't the rest of he weathermen are always trying to one up their competition.

In the Cincinnati area it's not uncommon for it to be only raining in Northern Kentucky while it's snowing hard and schools are closing in Franklin and Union Counties in Indiana. The weather varies enough that an area wide forecast will often be wrong someplace.

I used to work 3rd shift at Monsanto's Port Plastics Plant in Addyston, Oh, right on the Ohio River. There would be mornings that I left work and it was lightly raining. After I crossed into Indiana and started gaining altitude the rain would turn to snow, and when I got to the top of the hill the roads would be covered. That was only a 15 minute drive. How do you put that in a weather forecast?

When I lived up by Dayton, I worked for a contractor for a short time, he would call off due to snow, and tell me I was full of it because the sun was out where I was, and clear to the north, where we were (supposed to be) working.

I-70 runs along a weather line there. it's clear on one side, rain/snow/storming on the other.

Can't remember the older guy on channel 2 who got off telling people about the "lake effect" snow. Not a 1/4 inch of powder on the ground and everyone is driving like there's 10 inches of ice.
