How do you get a water pump off a Ford 1100?

Son is helping (or not helping) his neighbor working on a Ford 1100. He says they have to replace pump, as it is damaged. Can"t seem to get it off, and they"re breaking things. Says they have the bolts out, but won"t come off - thinks it just seats in hole in front of engine with O ring. Education appreciated.

parts manual at the ford new Holland web site shows 3 bolts holding it for the 1979 to 1982 ford 1100 two cylinder tractor . bill

I have a 1300 Ford. The water pump was held on with 2 or 3 bolts (can"t remember for sure). I think it is the same as yours. I do believe there was an o ring on it. I know that it was hard to get out. I used a hammer and a piece of brass to get it lose. Then I used a very thin flat blade screwdriver to work it out of the hole. It was very snug, but once I got it to move it came out fairly easy.

(quoted from post at 15:37:17 01/13/14) My guess is they missed a bolt. Countersunk or hidden somewhere. Good hunting!

Maybe it's like flathead Ford V8s.One bolt up inside the pump inlet.

Overhauled one a few years back. Don't remember the particulars, but it seems to me that it was recessed into the block a ways, and hanging up on an o ring.
I do remember it being a real pain, but no hidden bolts.
