I have heard of people that have a fantastic memory.
Last week, I personally witnessed a person that had an unbelievable memory.
I belong to a small British Auto Club and we have monthly meetings while enjoying a meal. There were fourteen people setting at a table when a young waitress approached the table and greeted us along with her introduction and proceeded to take all our orders. We all thought it was strange that she didn't write anything down nor did she have a tape recorder.
Some time later, she returned with all our food and not a single mistake! She placed everyone's order in front of them and didn't have to ask a single question!
She didn't work there very long but I think with a memory like that, she didn't have to.

I have an amazing memory too, I can
remember things that never happened! That
is amazing that people can remember some
things.

I'm great at rememebring stuff that wasn't there. I'll be driving along out out buildings, houses and businesses and tell my kids how I remember when that wasn't there......

I was in the no tractor supplies store today to buy some bird feed and a man walked up and said hello jack [not my real name] how are you. I couldn't remember his name right off but I said hello Mr. 555 1550, [his real phone number but not this number] how are things and we had a short visit and just as we were going to walk away I asked how is the My..'s family doing.

Now my point is that I could remember his phone number even though I had only called him on the phone one time but I had to think a while to remember his name even though I have done buiness with him several time. I am good with numbers I guess. Now if we got rid of names and just gave everyone a number I would be in great shape.

When I first hired on we had to go to a new employee orientation. The guy that headed it ask everyone one of us (40 people) there names. He remembered everyone of them. About 10 years later he came up to me and I had not seen him in 10 years and he said how are you doing Mr. Crowder.

My sister worked for the Archdiocese of Oakland, CA. When she passed, the Archbishop was at the funeral. I walked up to him to introduce myself and he asked, "How have you been, Chuck?" When I asked how he knew who I was, He said he met me when I was in High School,(Catholic), about 30 years earlier. Kind of spooky.

A guy is telling his buddy how he and his wife were seeing a doctor who was helping them remember things by using word of association. The buddy says, "Boy, I's like to see him. What's his name?" The first guy says, "OK, let's see. What's the name of that flower that's real pretty, and has thorns." His buddy says, "Do you mean a rose?" "Yeah! That's it! Hey Rose, what's the name of that doctor we're seeing?"

My dad told of a man in the county jail that was close to the rail road tracks. Said he could watch a train go by and write down all the car numbers after the train had all passed. I think this was in the early 50s.

I do remember my birthday and SSN but I can't remember my dogtag number. My wife can though.

Fourteen people is pretty good. When I was in college I worked in a sandwich shop; I could take a family"s order when there were only five or six. It"s funny how your brain learns to keep it in short term memory just long enough, then it"s gone.

There are also tricks you can use to impress people:
Memory Book

I worked with a guy who had a fantastic memory. He could read a phone book, 5 minutes later he could tell you everybody's phone number and address, and reverse it - give him the number, he could tell you the name and address. He could remember exactly what you said. Had a terrible time with girls...

A the first dealership I worked at there was a salesman that had the best memory I have every seen. He remembered the serial numbers of any of the equipment he has ever sold. The names and phone numbers of all his customers. The guy that did the financing told me the the salesman also remembered the guys SS numbers too.

The funny thing was that salesman was a fat lazy person. Nice fellow but never would do a single lick more than he needed to. LOL

He was handy for the shop and parts department. If a customer was needing parts and did not know his tractor/combine serial number just asked the salesman he could tell you right off the top of his head.

At his funeral several years ago I talked to his wife for a good while. She told me that the memory ran in his family. His Father actually had total memory. Never could forget anything. Shot himself at a fairly early age because of it. He could not forget anything he had done wrong.

Myself, I am getting terrible with names as I get older. I can remember numbers pretty well but names forget it.

" and received S&W revolver K599262 & 18 rounds of
ammunition" That was the serial number of the
revolver on the Officer's council in the command
post at Araxos Greece in 1988 & 89, wanna guess how
I remember the number? My badge number to the area
at Sawyer was 643 and the key word was cow, and I
as at Sawyer before Araxos.
